WHO IS CAMEL? |
|
That question is really beyond the scope of this
document... In brief, Camel is a band with a long history and a dedicated following. More information
can be found on any of several Camel websites, which you can find at the Ultimate Band List . |

WHO TOOK ALL THE PICTURES? |
|
The pictures were taken by the same person who
did all the programming and design for this website. That person is me. It is unfortunate
that this website is more a showcase of my web development abilities than my photographic abilities, but that
is a situation which will be remedied at some point, I expect. |
|
HOW DO I NAVIGATE THE SITE? |
|
The easiest way to navigate the site is self-
evident, if your browser supports frames. Simply click the relevant button on the footer of any page. |
If
your browser doesn't support frames, you may well be out of luck. In fact I'm not sure quite how you're reading this
document either, unless you snuck in from a search engine. |
Someday
we may create a frameless version of this site... then again, good browsers are free... |
Finally,
note that you can return to the site's splash screen by clicking on the banner graphic. I'm not sure why anyone would ever want to
do that, but since it's one of those things they write about in the design books, I figured I might as well throw it in. |
|
HOW DOES THE SEARCH PAGE WORK? |
|
It's a bit of programming magic. The image database
stores keywords for each image. Also, lists or "categories" of specific images are stored. Searches
can use both kinds of criteria, or one or the other. I can add new categories easily, to make for rapid
retrieval of (for example) images of a specific person, or images BY a specific person... |
That
functionality is actually what makes this type of site so effective -- even large collections of images can be browsed
efficiently, with minimal excess download time. |
