The second snare was mostly for backup. And I passed on the opportunity to play two kick drums; the double pedal was enough for me.What's amazing is the amount of crap I'd accumulated... the mounted tambourine, the stick caddy, the remote hi-hat with pedal. The wind chimes! I'm not saying those are bad things to have, but in my situation, I had so much cage space to fill I ended up hanging stuff I never used.
For a while I even had a second ride cymbal, mounted on the left side of the kit above the main hi-hat.
